MANAGING DIRECTOR
With over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate, David brings unparalleled depth, breadth, and senior leadership to CMBS advisory services. Over the course of his career, he has been immersed in all facets of real estate investment and development from asset and portfolio management, property infrastructure, operations, and ground up construction to personally investing in and managing over $150 million in commercial property.
As a founding partner of multiple real estate businesses, including Varsity Capital Advisors, TR Advisors and Antrim Management, David has served in executive roles as CEO and CFO, bringing laser focus to optimizing investor returns and restructuring CMBS and institutional debt. As a property owner, he transformed strategic planning and day-to-day management and operations, achieving exceptional NOI for multifamily, student housing, and mixed -use assets.
David uniquely blends strong business acumen, steeped in rigorous market trend and financial analyses, with innovative problem solving that consistently recognizes diverse needs and communications style. He leads with compassion and authenticity, earning the trust of the full spectrum of stakeholders from institutional investors, brokers, and attorneys to property owners, onsite personnel and community officials. David not only reflects The Henley Group’s financial savvy and passionate borrower-centric approach to tackling complex CMBS issues, he has experienced firsthand what it means to be a client. As a property owner, he engaged THG to successfully restructure and resolve two off campus student housing CMBS loans during the Great Financial Crisis achieving a Discounted Payoff beneficial to both the borrower and the lenders. Among David’s vast experience and accomplishments, this distinct perspective adds immense value to the THG team and its clients.
David earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University and holds a Massachusetts Real Estate License.
When he’s not navigating financials and Borrower challenges, David is fishing, golfing and hiking with family and friends.
